How to care for alternative clothing - Care Guide
Alternative and streetwear clothing is an investment that should last for years. At Bies Clothing, we create products from the highest quality materials, but even the best alternative clothing requires proper care. Here's a complete guide on how to care for your favorite hoodies, t-shirts, and accessories.
How to wash streetwear hoodies with prints?
Our streetwear hoodies made from premium 440g cotton are exceptionally durable, but proper washing will extend their lifespan and maintain color intensity.
Washing temperature
- Hoodies with prints - maximum 30°C
- Alternative t-shirts - 30-40°C
- Merino wool hats - hand wash in lukewarm water
Before washing
Always turn clothes inside out before washing. This protects prints made with eco-friendly screen printing and prevents colors from fading. Our graphics are durable, but this simple step will extend their lifespan by years.
Drying alternative clothing
Never tumble dry! High temperatures can damage prints and shrink the fabric. Instead:
- Dry flat or on a hanger
- Avoid direct sunlight (it can fade colors)
- Do not wring out forcefully - gently squeeze out water
Our streetwear hoodies made from premium cotton dry naturally within 24-48 hours.
Ironing and storage
How to iron printed t-shirts?
If you need to iron alternative t-shirts:
- Iron from the inside out (never directly on the print!)
- Use a medium temperature
- You can place a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the fabric
Storage
Hoodies and t-shirts are best stored:
- Hoodies - folded or on hangers (heavy 440g cotton will not deform)
- T-shirts - folded in a drawer
- Beanie hats - folded, away from heat sources
Care for different materials
Premium 440g Cotton (Hoodies)
Our premium cotton hoodies are exceptionally durable:
- Wash at 30°C, inside out
- Can be washed frequently - the material does not lose quality
- The first 2-3 washes may slightly reduce the size (1-2%)
- After a few washes, the material will "settle" and be perfect
100% Cotton (T-shirts)
Alternative t-shirts made from 100% cotton:
- Wash at 30-40°C
- Eco-friendly screen printing is very durable
- Avoid bleach and harsh detergents
Merino Wool (Premium Hats)
Our hats made from Italian merino wool require delicate care:
- Hand wash in lukewarm water (max 30°C)
- Use a mild wool detergent
- Do not wring out - gently squeeze water out with a towel
- Dry flat, away from heat sources
Removing stains from alternative clothing
If you stain your favorite streetwear hoodie:
- Act quickly - fresh stains are easier to remove
- Do not rub - gently blot the stain with a paper towel
- Use cold water - warm water can set the stain
- Gentle stain remover - test first on an inconspicuous area
- Wash normally - at 30°C, inside out
How to refresh clothes without washing?
You don't have to wash alternative clothing after every wear:
- Air out - hang on a balcony for a few hours
- Fabric freshener - gentle spray (test first!)
- Steam - hang in the bathroom during a hot shower
Common care mistakes
What to avoid when caring for streetwear clothing:
- ❌ Washing at high temperatures (above 40°C)
- ❌ Tumble drying
- ❌ Ironing directly on the print
- ❌ Using bleach
- ❌ Wringing out wet clothes
- ❌ Washing with zippers and velcro (they can damage the material)
